Nichols Pickles & Preserves
Creating premium conserves, chutneys, curds, and condiments that capture the flavour of the seasons and the comfort of something homemade.
Founded in 2024, Nichols Pickles & Preserves is a small-batch producer of handcrafted conserves, chutneys, and preserves, founded by Nerys and Simon, in Howden. Nestled in the beautiful East Yorkshire countryside, we take inspiration from the changing seasons and the abundance of fresh produce it provides. Every jar we create reflects our passion for honest, high-quality food made with care and attention to detail.
Using only whole ingredients at their peak, we craft rich, natural flavours that celebrate traditional recipes with a contemporary twist. Our preserves are made in small batches using time-honoured techniques, allowing us to develop a depth of flavour not found in mass-produced alternatives. There are no shortcuts in our process; just carefully selected ingredients perfect cooking, and a dedication to bringing out the best in every batch.
By staying true to traditional methods and using only the finest ingredients, we create products that capture the essence of homemade goodness while offering a level of craftsmanship that is increasingly rare. Whether it’s a classic fruit preserve bursting with natural sweetness, a tangy chutney rich with complex flavours, or a seasonal specialty that showcases the best of the harvest, every jar is made with the same commitment to excellence.
At Nichols Pickles & Preserves, we believe that great food starts with great ingredients and that tradition and quality should never be compromised. Our products are a reflection of that philosophy, bringing the taste of homemade perfection straight from our kitchen to your table. We take great pride in supplying the shops, cafes and restaurants of Howden, and the surrounding area, with preserves that stand out in both taste and quality. We also sell online and attend markets and community events where we love speaking to our customers, and sharing samples of our products.
